I am about ready to upgrade my desktop to 3.03, currently I have 3.0 but want to get the latest and greatest. I have downloaded all the RPMs but I was wondering, should I uninstall 3.0 first and do a fresh install or should I go the rpm -Uvh route?
greatest????? i think you need your head examined personally... ahh well. erm anyway, AFAIK you can install KD3 next to KDE2 and they should both work, as they are big different things with different names and files and stuff. just -i them, unless you want to -U them, but having said that i'd wonder if it was possible to actaully upgrade...

On my laptop running RedHat 7.3, I've been updating KD3 from 3.0 to the, as you say "the latest and greatest", which is 3.03 I believe. Unless there's another new update.
My update process was running RedHat's "up2date" prog. Followed the prompts and logout X and startx and viola.

Any suggestions would be helpful!

You can use rpm -e and rpm -i or just rpm -F to freshen.
