Question update kernel patch


I've just download kernel patch-2.4.22 and I want to install it to my computer. Can anybody help me how to update that kernel patch ?

I'd recommend ignoring the kernel patch and just downloading the full new kernel.

will help you there.
To compile the kernel:

http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/Kernel-HOWTO/

It also explains how to patch it up, but since that will require recompilation anyway anyway I'd suggest recompiling from the full kernel. Patching increases your chances of making a mistake and spending the next few days figuring out what happened and why it crashes.
