up2date weird out of disk space error

When using up2date I'm getting a weird error:

Testing package set / solving RPM inter-dependencies...
########################################
RPM package conflict error. The message was:
Test install failed because of package conflicts:
installing package evolution-1.2.2-5 needs 3MB on the /usr filesystem

Weird thing is I have 223Mb free on /usr

Any ideas what's going on?

How much space have you got left in /var/spool/up2date ? This is default for where up2date downloads its packages to?

I've over a Gig free here - the files in /var/spool/up2date total 5Mb.

Do you know what 'evolution' is?

Trouble is, it seems to be stopping up2date from working.
