weird disk full error?


hey crew
just trying to install fedora 1 and i get to the point where it is installing the install image to the disk and it gives me a error saying that the disk is full but i have about 6 gig set aside for my / partition.
i have windows set up as well for a dual boot system and a 40 gig hdd split into 20 gig each side.
can anyone suggest something?

Make absolutely sure you are partitioning it right.

I had that same error too... so i came searching here for an answer and here i found this thread.

Will try again tonite. Hope it will work. my last experience with Linux was a year ago. RH6.0. anaconda is a bit tricky.

i'm pretty sure my patitions are right as i have used this configuration for all other distros
hda1 window$ 20 gig
hda2
/ 6 gig
swap 1.1 gig
/home 13 gig

but i also found this ......

ARGH !!!!! I NEARLY gave up Fedora

in fact i tried both the GUI and text mode installation..but to no avail. few problems encountered.

- once it was while installing Perl packages... it came up with the hd full error. it seems like unable to read from the media, CDROM. but i've done the mediacheck all both 3 CDs had a PASS.

- the LBA setting for BIOS.

- then the same thing of the mentioned earlier Perl happened while installing OpenOffice.

- at certain point, X exited abnormally

- and i thought text mode will be ok... nearly 50% (before this all were only about 35-40%) and it just stuck and says need to be rebooted.


Thomas point me to a bug report...hope can find some use and solve the problem.
