Question Up2date problems on RH Ent. Linux WS 3

OK...Our network dept recently put in a new proxy server for internet connections. Ever since they put it in I have not been able to get the up2date alert notification icon to connect to RHN.

If I run the up2date manually I can connect fine and get all the necessary updates but the icon in the task bar is grey with a red slash thru it and when I mouse over it it says..Unable to connect to RHN.

But when I right click on the icon and click on Launch up2date it connects fine and gets any updates that are out there.

I have run the up2date --configure at the command line and specified the proxy host and port...xxx.xxx.com:8080 and supplied it with the credentials for user authentication but to no avail.

Anyone help me?

PS...when I do an "rpm -q up2date" here is what is returned:

up2date-4.2.38-1

Thanks for any and all help
