Uninstall Red Hat Linux

Hi

I have a notebook with WIN XPP and Red Hat Linux. I'm running out of space now and I want to uninstall Red Hat Linux. Is it safe to just format the Linux partition as NTFS?
Would it boot again normally? I really don't want to screw up my laptop by doing stupid thing.

Thanks

Alf

How to Remove Linux and Install Windows XP
You can remove lilo from the mbr with
/sbin/lilo -u
You can remove grub or lilo from the mbr by booting with a Windows 98 boot floppy (at the prompt, type fdisk /mbr), or by using the Windows XP Recovery Console or the Windows 2000 Recovery Console
