Unable to view Windows from Linux

I am now able to access files from my linux box on my windows. However, I am unable to access windows shares from linux. I am able to view the windows boxes via smb://machine name but the shares/folders are not visible. Any Suggestions? I also believe this will solve my inability to print from my linux box to window printer.

when you say smb://machinename, is that in konqueror you are doing that? in my experience konqueror does not do a very good job of that! try gnomba - not as pretty but lots more reliable. make sure you muck about with the scan options, try both IP and smb or whatever the other one is.

u may use mount command.. if your windows sharing require username and password try;

mount -t smbfs //machinename/share /mnt/win -o username=user,password=pass

make sure u have created the directory for mounting ( /mnt/win )

also u may use ip address for machinename
