what do you mean your admin?
what is it that your trying to do that you get errors for? youll need to use the 'sudo' command to access files that your user account doesnt have access to. check the ubuntu handbook for sudo.

probably.. but there is no need to. the only reason to use the sudo command is to do system administration. and doing it in the command line makes you think about the commands you are typing to try and ensure the user doesnt screw up.
if you ran your GUI all the time with superuser privledges, chances are your system would become unstable in not too long. also, say your running your GUI as the superuser, and your running Firefox looking at some webpages. if there is a security vulnerability in firefox, and a remote user gained access they could execute commands with superuser privledges, meaning a very insecure system.

When asking for help, it is important to give details of what you are trying to do and how. If, for example, you want to run gedit as "root" (with that, I mean, as sudo user), you've to open a terminal (Applications >> Accessories >> Terminal) and type:
Code:
gksudo gedit
or

Code:
sudo gedit
It is recommended to use gksudo(Ubuntu/Gnome) or kdesu(Kubuntu/KDE) for GUI applications. I can't figure out why though, since sudo <application name> works just fine.
