Does anyone know how I might turn a single picture into an avi file? I want to take my images, turn them into video and edit them together on Cinelerra to send to my folks.

I have installed Cinelerra and doing some editing etc, but it only seems to work on movie files (as you'd expect). Image files just flash up for a milli-second!

Does anyone know if it can be done in cinelerra, or will i need to convert them externally?

If so, does anyone know a command line command I might do to achieve this (i have mencoder, mpegtools, imagmagick - and have read the man page, but I cant figure it out!)

Oh, just found this old thread I posted.

In case anyone ends up here looking for somthin' similar, you CAN do it just in Cinelerra - just zoom in on the single frame, then drag it to as long as you want. No worries!

it's possible using kino, too..
