Trying to install squirellmail


Here is the eror I ge once I try to access the mailserver via browser.
Parse error: parse error in /srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail-1.4.3a/config/config/php on line 24

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: session_id() in /srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail-1.4.3a/functions/global.php on line 293

line 24 in the config.php file is
$motd = "";

line 293 in the global.php file is
$sessid = session_id();

Anythoughts?

I show same exact two lines in the config files. No errors. Are you accessing via localhost or web.... if localhost, would it have anything to do with being logged in as root or not??? Hey, ya asked for any thoughts......
