squirellmail, Fatal error: Allowed memory size exhausted

I fianally got my mail server up and going yesterday. I am having a problem with squirrelmail when I go into the folders option to create a folder I get this error at the bottom of the page
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 84 bytes) in /var/www/html/mail/functions/imap_mailbox.php on line 631
I cant seem to seem to see any folders in the "create folder as sub folder".

I would post the line 631 in /var/www/html/mail/functions/imap_mailbox.php but the numbers are never the same.

Thanks,
AD

You may want to try one of the following;

Edir your php.ini file and tweak 'memory_limit = 8M' to something more suitable. Restart apache after making any changes.

Some squirrelmail users have reported that any attempts by users to create a top-level mail folder will give this error on some IMAP server. Edit your squirrelmail config to use IMAP-specific commands for your particular IMAP server.

My problem is I dont know exactly what imap server I am running. I have tried to find this our in the past with no luck. The error limit is already set to 8M. I am going to output the errors to a file maybe I will get some more details.

Thanks,
AD

If you haven't specifically installed an IMAP server then you've got UW-IMAP.

You could try increasing the memory limit for php. See if you still have the same error at 80Mb (assuming you have a lot of RAM in the box).

I increased the memory linit to 80 and now there is no error. Im not sure if this is right or not but i get a boat load of folder i can subscribe too. its all of the folders in my home directory. this doesnt seem right at all to me. no wonder i was running out of memory there is probly 5000 files in my home directory and it was trying to list every single one of them.

I moved my default folder prefix to be /mail and that seemed to fix that problem. Seems to me that squireelmail would make this a default for security purposes. Doesnt seem to be too secure off right off. needs some tweeks here and there.

Thanks,
AD
