Re-read your configuration file and ensure the /etc/tripwire/lib/tripwire/ directory exists
and if that would be the most logical place to write the database. When you first initialize tripwire in needs to fill its database with entries to check so that may be the reason for this warning. After your first initialization run check if the /etc/tripwire/lib/tripwire/sever.one.twd file exists and if it has got entries corresponding to your configuration. If you're unsure how to check then consult the tripwire man page because I don't know: I favor Samhain over AIDE or Open Source tripwire
which was last updated in 2011 BTW.
