thunar crashes the kernel when hiding/unhiding hidden files

hi everyone

its my first post here, but i am actually completely puzzlled. ive searched google, and this forum and cant find a similar thread.

the situation is:

i am using bluewhite64-12.2, with custom kernel 2.6.29-rc.4, ext3 filesystem and thunar-0.9.3 compiled from source. i like thunar and its been working fine, except whenever i changed a view from normal to 'show hidden files' AND THEN BACK it would crash (100% cpu = killall thunar; thunar -q wouldnt work). i could live with this but:

tonight i decided to test xfs filesystem. i tar.gz'ed the whole root partition (/home is a separate one), reformatted it to xfs and untarred back. since then, weather i use xfs or ext3 (i tried reversing it back), whenever i change the view from normal to 'show hidden files' AND THEN BACK thunar crashes the kernel, and i have to actually hard-restart the pc...

i tried recompiling it from source, to no avail...

id rather thunar crashed, then crash the whole system 2 b honest

ANYONE has ANY ideas?

i tried to be descriptive, but if u need more info just let me know...
