We have 15+ servers and currently look to migrate the syslogs into an existing postres database. I have looked at apps such as msyslog which might do what I want, but then I run into line's like "If your libpq library isn't in your linker path, you must add the
corresponding directory on the shell variable LD_PATH." and scratch my head....

One of the guys here said, O you can just write a perl script to do it, only problem is, yep, I don't know perl!


I have to assume others are doing this, and there must be a way to easily say I want each log to write to a different table;
ex.
mail.* -> postgre db=serverlogs, table=mail
cron.* -> postgre db=serverlogs, table=cron

So, does anyone have ideas, suggestions or solutions, please feel free to help out .. These are all RedHat / CentOS box's in case it matters!
