Question logging information into syslog

How do I log information to the syslog files which are generated by a daemon written by me in shell script.How do I append information generated by my daemon in regular intervals into the various logfiles in the syslog.

The logger command should give you the functionality that you need. Just be sure to modify the syslog configuration file to log that appropriate facility and priority.
