Distribution: ALT linux 2.4 Master, and Fendora 5, and I have a damn small linux Live CD, and ubutu sever edition

Question Synaptic keeps telling me it couldnt download certian packets.IT refuses java


I try to install java and it says it failed it says its missing the Alt linux 2.4 Master add-on CD! AND it also doesnt update, it says it cant retrive certain packets! how can I get synaptic to work?

You can just install Java from java.sun.com.
