Suse 8.1 install issue with 32 MB Ram

I am trying to install Suse 8.1 on a machine with only 32 MB RAM. In order to do this I must boot from the floppies, fdisk the hard drive to set up a SWAP partition. I can boot from the floppies. I press Alt-F9 to get to a console but fdisk is not a valid command. Am I going about this incorrectly?
Thanks in advance.

Most likely your boot floppies were loaded with fdisk would be the problem. I would probably suggest if you plan on running X on this machine, to go ahead and drop some more RAM in it. If not X is a hog and won't perform like you will want it to.

Must it be SuSE? Vector Linux would run like a dream with 32 meg of RAM. www.vectorlinux.com
