suse 8.1 and nvidia drivers

hi

i have just bought suse 8.1, and have high praises so far for the new distro. kde 3.03 and konquero look great

my question is, i have downloaded nvidia glx-1 and nvidia kernel drivers. i have installed the software, and now my 3d acceleration is enabled. does this mean that games will be shown in 3d , or am i missing something.

later ronss

It means that 3D games will now run at the speed that you would expect them to run at. Obviously 2D games (such as Pingus) will not run in 3D... that'd be a bit daft! It's the same as in Windows... but better . When you install the drivers for a 3D card in Windows, do your non-3D games run in 3D? All it means is that now your Linux setup can access the full potential of your 3D NVidia card.

Go play something like tuxracer and you'll see.
