Hmmmmmmm, I don't have that problem... Don't know what we could compare to maybe see what's gone wrong on your side.
Then again I retained /home (didn't format this separate partition)from my previous 10.1 Install.
It helps by a) pointing out that there is a problem exclusive to your system, and hence after I offered to help in identifying what different element on your system is causing the fault... but I guess you don't my help, so don't worry, I wont give it to you.
My point is a) just because it doesn't happen to your computer doesn't mean it is exclusive to my system; I don't suppose you've encountered every bug known to your operating system; that is quite a hasty statement and b) what different element are you referring to? If I've overlooked something in your post I apologize, but I just didn't seem to find anything helpful.
If I didn't need anybody's help I wouldn't have posted the thread to start with. All I got from your post was that you "don't know what we could compare to," which leaves me where I am currently.
