SSH to an external IP address

I finally had a go at using SSH, and its all going ok - I can ssh into other computers on my network just fine, and copy files and directories. Now I have one question:
I have a network of computers, all connected through an ethernet router. I know the external IP address of this ethernet router.
How can I connect to a computer on the network through the server's external IP?

You'll have to have the router forward port 22 traffic to one of the internal computer's port 22. Then, you can ssh to the IP, and the request will be forwarded to the internal computer. From there, you can ssh inside the network to any other computer you need to.
