sound with xine

I just installed xine and everything works fine except for sound. How do i get sound to work? I'm running Slackware 8.0, with KDE 2.1.1 on an IBM T20 notebook with a crystal soundfusion soundcard.

your question is VERY vague...

do have a soundcard? do you have speakers plugged into the soundcard? do you have the soundcard configured? do you have the properly sound codescs installed on xine? have you turned the volume up? do you get any errors? what are you trying to play?

If you read the question in it's entirety to will notice that he does have a soundcard. It is a "crystal soundfusion soundcard".

Did you compile xine or was it a binary?
You may want to compile xine. Do you have sound in kde?

Yes i compiled xine, and yes sound works in KDE, this problem only happens with xine and not any other application.
