hey,
i am having a weired problem. i've tried looking online but nothing has helped. i am running slack 10 kernel 2.6.6. i have ALSA and oss compiled with the kernel. i have a nforce2 mobo and iam using the onboard soundcard. the problem i am having is that sound works with xmms. but wont work with xine or mplayer. i get video but no sound. i also installed the nvsound drivers for the mobo from nvidia. there are so many drivers installed i dont know which one linux is using. i've tried selecting oss and ALSA in the control center xmms works fine with either but the video players dont play sound for either, also shouldnt the nforce drivers show up in that list? they dont.
when i run mplayer from the console with ALSA selected in the preferences i get some errors.
