sound problems and wine sound problems

ok...i have wine 3.3.x....it was working fine... as well as the linux version of UT Torn 2004...it was working great...

earlier i tried to fire it up jedi acadamy in wine but there was no sound....then i tried to fire up Warcraft 3 and comanche 4(both in wine)...no sound.....i then tried to fire up UT 2004(which is linux native)....no sound....not sure what the deal is....

using kde and slackware 9.1.....if i play a video clip i get sound...if i play .wav...i get sound...

just the games??? no sound.....

last night i tried to get both of my soundcards installed...i was trying to get teamspeak working right ...i have a sound blaster live! and onboard audio(i wanted to get the other sound to work because my frontside audio connections use the onboard sound device(SoundMax)......i wasnt successful...lol...but i think i may deleted something dealing with the sound....in /dev/???... i ran alsaconf to try and get it working....no love....

i believe i read in a post that installing an SB Live! and onboard audio was a no-no....?

also, if it is any help, the command aumix, which used to fire off a graphical sound mixer does not work anymore...the commands executes, but it doesnt start....at the CLI upon using aumx, it just pauses for a second or two and then brings back the prompt....alsamixer does work....and everything looks right...

i dont think it is my wine config....for kicks earlier i tried other known-working configs that i had saved along the line of getting wine to work....and like i said linux native UT 2004's sound doesnt work either...

well there it is....please help me get this sucker working....
