Some Firefox problems

Hi,
I just installed firefox browser and got the macromedia flash plugin. I installed flash plugin fine and it plays movies at correct speed, except there is no sound. Regular sound on my computer works cause i can hear IM's from gaim. Could there be a setting in firefox thats not allowing sound?

Also, Is it possible to get a plugin that allows mpg's, wma's, wmv's, to be played within the firefox browser? If so, could you point me in the direction of a reliable plugin that will work and possibly instructions or documentation on how to install the plugin.

Before I used to do everything as root, and i got firefox flash plugin to work fine with sound. Now im reinstalling everything under a regular user acount and sound doesn't work now. I never have gotten mpg's, wma's, or wmv's to work ever though.

Thanks for any help,
Balk out
