Snort doesn't find libcpap.so.0.7.

error: failed dependencies:
libpcap.so.0.6.2 is needed by snort-2.0.4-1

Yet, I have libpcap.so.0.7 in /usr/lib.

BTW, this is snort-2.0.4-1.i386.rpm with kernel 2.4.21-0.13mdk and the libcapap packages installed.

AFAIK best thing would be to take the snort-2.0.4-1.src.rpm and rebuild against the libs on your box. IIRC 2.0.5 is latest BTW.

Since the I have no idea how to build a rpm, I just fetched the tarball for 2.1.0 which was released stable 18/12/03 btw.

Only dependencies I needed was the pcre headers I got here: ftp://ftp.csx.cam.ac.uk/pub/software/programming/pcre/

On their website, it says the latest version is 4.4 but I somehow got 4.5.... And I got Snort installed.
