I search a small service-based database for linux. i used sqlite, but sqlite is on large files very slowly. i need a very simple database-server, which i can use with DBI (in perl) und PDO (in php).
the server should not be like mysql, it's very overhead for me. the database should be "simple like sqlite" and service-based.
It sounds like you need to take the responsibility of your requirements more seriously. If you have large volumes of data then a "toy" database like sqlite is not going to be appropriate, if it's slow or fast. Despite you requesting something else, use mysql / postgresql, that's *exactly* what they are for.
Ok, but ist not soo much data. i think, it's daily ~1,5 MB Data.
There's a webservice wich uses this data. But if the sqlite-database is greater then 5mb it needs very much time. i think in the worst case, the database will be 100MB.
There performance-problem at sqlite is, becauase i use a olimex sam9-l9260-based board. it has an arm9-processor with 200mhz. the board doesnt do much things, there are 2-3 services, which ever run, nothing else.
mysql runs good on this board (i readed this in the internet), but it needs 100mb to install for mysql. and mysql is an overhead i think.
but, if there's no second way i will have to use mysql:-)
