Simple backup tool for Mint 18.3 Vista dual boot

Hi

I'm running Mint 18.3 64 XFCE dual with Vista Home Premium 32 on an elderly Fujitsu Li2727 laptop.

I have 5 partitions:
SDA1 - Win recovery NTFS
SDA2 - Vista plus most of my data files accessed by both OS NTFS
SDA4 - more data files (music collection) accessed by both OS NTFS
SDA5 - Mint EXT4
SDA6 - Swap

I'm looking for suggestions as to how to easily and regularly back up both OS and all my data preferably using a GUI tool. It's my understanding that Timeshift and Mint Backup tool will only backup the Mint partition. I'm using Timeshift to backup the Mint system.

When using Vista only I was using Oemei Backupper to clone the complete HDD as a backup strategy, but that isn't currently an option as my backup drive died and my all my spares are smaller. I'd also prefer to do it from the Mint side as that is my 99% OS now.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Personally, I use FreeFileSync to back up my data files, both Linux-specific and shared, to an external device. On the system side I use TimeShift to auto make daily snapshots of / and /home (which reside on different partitions) just in case, and every couple of weeks or so, Macrium Reflect to make offline images of the / and /home partitions.

It may sound a lot but it all takes very little time to do.

I use sbackup to backup my data files (not the OS). But you need to know of several cautions with this program.
  1. It has not been updated for a while.
  2. The initial attempts to back-up to a remote USB drive attached to the router were a bit flaky. Once you get over that hump it works well.
  3. For some reason, it would not back-up the data files located on the Windows partition. This was solved through a Bash script that copies the Windows data files into a Linux backup directory just prior to sbackup running.
Overall sbackup is an excellent backup utility.

Thanks for both replies. While having a look to see if FreeFileSync was available in Software Manager I spotted Lucky Backup and decided to try that first. So far I've used it to back up my data files to USB HDD, and with TimeShift providing a system backup of sorts, I'm happy for now. It seems that I may be able to use Lucky Backup to do the whole job down the track.

While I'm sure that sbackup would also be fine, I'm wary of using any solution that requires me to add bash scripts (I'd have to find out how to first......)
