the servers public key has probably been changed. you probably need to get a new key made for the client.

you probably need to delete the first line of this file:
/home/bobi/.ssh/known_hosts

so that the server will prompt you for a password.

Are you able to restart ssh daemon on server?

Can you check ~/.ssh/file permissions on the server?

For correct directory and file permissions.

It is not possible to restart the daemon or check permissions because I have only sftp access for this server.

By the way on windows I can connect without any problem using FileZilla. All I do is set up the key file and user name.

Here is the filezilla output

Status: Connecting to www.xxxxxxxxxxx.com...
Response: fzSftp started
Command: keyfile "C:\Users\zzzzzzz\Downloads\webconsumption.ppk"
Command: open "yyyyyyyyyyy@www.xxxxxxxxxxx.com" 22
Command: Trust changed Hostkey: Once
Status: Connected to xxxxxxxxxxx.com
Status: Retrieving directory listing...
Command: pwd
Response: Current directory is: "/home/ubuntu"
Command: ls
Status: Listing directory /home/ubuntu
Status: Calculating timezone offset of server...
Command: mtime ".profile"
Response: 1397005395
Status: Timezone offsets: Server: 0 seconds. Local: 7200 seconds. Difference: 7200 seconds.
Status: Directory listing successful

Have you verified the key on the client? Does it have the proper permissions?

But Konqueror still rejects with "Could Not Login: Authentication failed."

I guess the reason is that it doesn't look at the right IdentityFile, so do you know where can I find the sftp config file?

I tried creating ~/.ssh/config file with content

Host xxxx.com
IdentityFile /home/bobi/.ssh/id_rsa

But it sill doesn't work, is there any other config file Konqueror looks for?

michaelk, you were right, permissions were not correct for both the config and the key file.
I changed those and now it works fine.

Thanks a lot !
