screen flicker while installing FedoraCore 4

Hello,

I'm trying to install Fedora Core 4 on my laptop, currently running Windows XP Pro. I boot from the rescue CD, and I can see the menu fine. I type "linux", which is the option to install Linux, and then the next screen is visible in split-second flashes every few seconds (not long enough for me to read what's going on).

My laptop is a widescreen; could this be part of the problem? My computer is only a week old, so hopefully not any hardware issues.

How should I proceed from here?

i would google and find out if anyone has installed *nix on ur laptop. A good site to look thru is http://www.linux-laptop.net/ but if you're laptop is really new, you may be better off with google. What kind of laptop is it and what are the specs? When posting questions try to be as detailed as possible, it will get you questions answered quicker and correctly

Fixed...
Typed 'linux vga=771' at the install screen and it worked fine.
seems to affect people with Dell Inspiron 6000 and ATI x300 video card.
