Scanning software for Printer Scanner Epson
I want to scan from a Epson SX425W printer scanner.
The handbook says I should have installed software.
Is there any software for this as I have tried simple scan but
it cannot find a scanner?
Thanks

Hi bscho...
You will need a driver for your scanner. Please follow the instructions listed here. This should allow you to use "Simple Scan" or any other scanner software of your choice.
You can also try Vuescan, which has its own drivers. However, I would still recommend installing the drivers mentioned above.
Regards...

if your printer / scanner was plugged in at the time of install
then Fedora 21 saw it and installed xsane automatically
just a heads up
fedora 21 is about to hit it's End Of Life in about a month
time to install fedora 22
or in a week or two install fedora 23

Thanks I have installed the scanner now as a result of your help, both on Fedora 21 using the .rpm and on
Ubuntu using .deb packages.
