Samba/ Windows network problems (Newbie question)

Hi everyone! I cant seem to get anything to work right today. I went and updated to the latest version of Samba and can't get SWAT to work.

The log file tells me: Unable to open configuration file "/usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf":
No such file or directory
I know that smb.conf is in there and everytime I connect to port 901 in my browser (Mozilla) it gives me an error stating: localhost.com has refused connection.

I need my RH9 and Windows XP machines to be able to see each other on the network.

Thanks in advance

chect the permissions on that directory and the file itself. imho you are better off editing your smb.conf manually from the cli anyway.

are you trying to connect to localhost.com?
this is what you need to type in your browser:
http://localhost:901

If you are trying to get winxp machines to talk to a samba server (RH9), just type "//ip.add.re.ss" of the RH box.

For RH to windows, just type "smb://ip.add.re.ss".
