samba: windows connection in konqueror

Hello all and thanks,

I have about 12 linux machines, some of them will connect to my windows file server using samba, others won't. Most of these are default installs of 10.2. Some machines will connect in command line (using mount.samba/mount.cifs) but not konqueror!! I first noticed the problem on one of the MAC machines.
The file server is password protected and you get the password prompt in konqueror but after typing it in correctly nothing happens. Like I said some of the machines will connect!!
Any help/light on this subject will help greatly. I have looked to see if my samba files are correct and installed on the PC in question compared to the ones that do connect but they look OK to me .....?

Cheers,

PB
