SAMBA password changes?

Can a Windows client change their password on a non-PDC samba machine? In other words, can my W2k/WXP users change their passwords without running 'smbpasswd' on the machine? And... would this work with unix password sync?

yes it is possible :-)

I've posted this before, so here's just the link.
It also might not the best way to do it, but it works for me. some perl scripting involved though.

it might look a bit like a lot of work at first glance, but it's quite convenient and also logs what's going on and who did what (or tried to do).

feel free to nag me with questions ;-)
