SAMBA and Mount Credentials File No Longer Working
Running RHEL5
After patching samba last night to version (3.0.33-3.15.el5_4) scripts that mount cifs filesystems no longer work when using a credentials file. However if the username and password are submitted within the command line, all works well. Any ideas if there are any changes that would cause this behavior. The details are below:
[root@my-MYDOMAIN cifs]# mount -v -t cifs //mymachine.mydomain.com/c /mnt1 -o credentials=/root/creds.txt
mount.cifs kernel mount options: unc=//mymachine.mydomain.com\c,ip=192.168.1.167,user=myuser,,,,,domain=MYDOMAIN,ver=1,rw,credentials=/root/creds.txt,pass=********
mount error 13 = Permission denied
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)
[root@my-MYDOMAIN cifs]# cat /root/creds.txt
username=MYDOMAIN/myuser
password=mypassword
[root@my-MYDOMAIN cifs]# mount -v -t cifs //mymachine.mydomain.com/c /mnt1 -o user=MYDOMAIN/myuser%mypassword
mount.cifs kernel mount options: unc=//mymachine.mydomain.com\c,ip=192.168.1.167,domain=MYDOMAIN,ver=1,rw,user=myuser,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,pass=** ******
Thanks for the help!
