Hi, I'm new here, great to see a big active Linux forum .

I have a question. I have recently installed Linux Redhat (Fedora Project), along with Windows XP Home Edition which I previously already had installed, and am looking for software that will let me run Windows programs in Linux. I've seen several alternatives here & there, but I do not know which one to choose! Does anyone know a free Windows simulator for Linux, or any program that will allow me to run Windows software in Linux??

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you heard of or tried wine. It will run windows programs on linux. I personally haven`t used it as i don`t run any windows programs so i can`t vouch for how good it is ( maybe there is someone here who can). But from what i read WINE stands for wine is not an emulator. Which means that WINE doesn`t read in windows code, convert it to linux code and then execute it, like an emulator would. it is a port of the windows libraries themselves, which means that windows code running on WINE should run as fast as on windows.
