Question Running Mac software on Linux

To my knowledge Mac X OS is UNIX based. Which means it shouldn't be too hard to port their software to linux... wouldn't it?

Does anyone know any utilities to run Mac software on Linux? Might be more compatible than trying to run windows software.

allthough mac is unix based most of the librarys are propiety and unique to OSX
anything simple command line based that uses no mac specific librarys should work on linux with just a recompile

anything more complicated that uses the mac osX gui toolkit for example will not work without extensive rewriting

However, it wouldn't be as hard to port linux/unix/bsd over to the mac
