runing mpg and wma on Xine or XMMS

Hello ,

i was wondering if there was a package or lib that enables you to run mpg, and wma on either xine or xmms? I did some searching and didn't find much. I'm using slackware 10.1?

if you download win32 codecs from mplayers wesite and extract them to /usr/lib/win32 then xine and other multimedia players like videolan and mplayer can use them. To play wma in xmms, you need a pluin called xmms-wma.

for wma, wmv, quicktime, real, etc.. you will need the mplayer codecs

www.mplayerhq.hu go to downloads, get the essential codecs package, extract it, make a directory called /usr/lib/win32

cp essential-xxxxxxx/* /usr/lib/win32

xine based players will detect the new codecs automatically. if you build mplayer later on, pass the --with-codecsdir=/usr/lib/win32 option to configure

both xine, and xmms are playing wma,
