are there any plugins for *.wma? Or is there a file I can download that does a *.wma -> *.mp3?

The file you'll download from there will permit you to play any givem audio format.

I downloaded the pack from the xmms forums, and never again

I had 8 errors while loading xmms. The pack was pourly made

http://mplayerhq.hu can play any wma files aswell i think. and also reencode them to whatever format you want.
