Run on different tty?

Is there some way to run a program on a different tty? Something like make an xemacs window appear in the gui while sshed into the box. Or engage the screensaver remotely when I forgot to lock it.

I came across screen -r but when I do something like

Code:

screen -r tty7.localhost xemacs

I'm told "There is no screen to be resumed"

Is there something else that might work?

I thought tty 7 was GUI.
1-6 istext based.

Yes. In the two examples I gave I want to run it in the gui even though I am remotely connected via ssh.
