Root folder permitions


I'm trying to get my iPod to work, but it seems like I need permition to access the device threw the mnt root folder. How do I get that permition?

Huh? What are you doing? Are you trying to copy files to or from your ipod?

We need a tiny bit more information. What color is your ipod?

I'm trying to send music to my ipod yes. I have a black ipod nano.

Good, good. That narrows things down. The reason I asked is there are lots of things you can do with Linux and iPods, including installing Linux onto your iPod.

I'm not very familiar with this so maybe somebody else can help you, but I'm interested in seeing how this works out.

I am please to announce that I have finally got my iPod to work with Linux! I downloaded a program called Yamipod. That worked right out of the box. It is a small program that doesn't even have to be installed.
