Hello there, i have a question about a shared folder.
i have a linux server and i shared this folder for the users, but my problem is, the files the users saved on this folder only the owner can modyfied others can see it but read only. the workstations are XP and 98. is there a way to tell linux to make all the files saved in this folder available for read and write by the group users?????. (all my users are in the same group).

I'm guessing you are using samba to share the folder...

Check my reply to this post for suggestions...

I had the same problem. I added

force create mode = 777
force directory mode = 777

to all my shares in the smb.conf file

seems to be working ok at the moment.
