Yep, just use GRIP with the appropriate encoder. You shouldn't be able to mount an audio CD anyway, so don't panic

do you have it configured to your cdrom (/dev/hdc, etc.)?

I'ved used it to burn mp3's to a cdr. Just point to the directory the mp3's are located for your image directory in the setup, select the mp3's you want, create the iso.. then burn the iso.. works like a charm.

i believe it is, beause when i have a cd in it doesn't say no disc. And when i go to rip it says no tracks selected do you want to rp the whole cd? So i click yes but it just pops up with that message again.

Perhaps you could try cdparanoia, which is a command line application.

Simply insert the CD, and run
Code:
cdparanoia -B
to rip the entire CD. By default it rips the tracks into WAV files.

If you want to encode the tracks into mp3 format, the following command should (I hope!) work:
Code:
cdparanoia "n" - | lame - trackN.mp3
where n is the number of the track you want, and trackN.mp3 is the name of the file.

See "man cdparanoia" or "man lame" for further details
