REpositories By contry - Apt-setup

Hi... I'd like to know how I can get to the apt setup to add repositories from that list by contries (the one that appears during the installation)...
I have tried apt-setup (the command I used to use), but I don't know why, this command don't exist in my system now or maybe in this version of apt. I'm using etch. Is there any other command to do that?

Thanks.

You can edit the list of sources directly by editing the following file as root.
Code:
/etc/apt/sources.list
And you can find a list of Debian mirrors at the following link.

http://www.debian.org/mirror/list

You could also install apt-spy and run # apt-spy -s <country code>

... but read the man page and back up your current sources.list file first.

Hi cgjones. I'm not interested here in editing the sources.list manually. I also know that I can get list of sources in the internet. But what I want here is to run that command that shows me the list and add everything to me. I was supposed to be just apt-setup. But there isn't any apt-setup in my /bin or /sbin. So, there isn't such command here. I think It might have changed, and If so, what I want to know is the new command or an alternative to run this setup again since there isn't any apt-setup here.

rickh, there isn't any apt-spy here too. Just:
apt-cache apt-config apt-ftparchive aptitude apt-sortpkgs
apt-cdrom apt-extracttemplates apt-get apt-key

I may be missing something, but it looks like the closest alternative might be apt-spy, as rickh suggested. There is also netselect-apt.

Hard to believe, but this command netselect-apt doesn't exist in my system too.

I took a look in my Synaptic again, and searching for apt I have found a package called apt-spy. After installing this package apt-spy began to work in the command line. But this isn't what I'm looking for. Now, I believe It hasn't changed. It must still be apt-setup.

So, the setup to add repositories (command: apt-setup), isn't working probablely because the lack of some package. Unfortunately, this package isn't called apt-setup (like apt-spy's package) because I tried to search for it using Synaptic and I found nothing.

To help me now, I believe that we just have to find out what's the name of this missing package, related to the command apt-setup.

Thanks

I've searched for apt-setup and all I've found is apt-setup-udeb and apt-mirror-setup. Both of these packages are not meant to be installed on a normal Debian system. I'm pretty sure that the package you are thinking of is apt-mirror-setup.

I can't find any of these packages neither in my repositories nor in my Debian DVD. Are you sure those are correct the packages / package-names related to the command apt-setup?

Anyway, a package for apt-setup was supposed to be in Debian first DVD at least. It's really strange I didn't find any package with the names you have posted.

Both packages I listed are in the repository you are using.
