Hi.
On Windows 98, I used an application called WinRoute Pro to allow me to tell the server to dial to the net remotely. WinRoute ran a webserver, which I can then connect to using IE on a specified port. If then gave me a list of dial-up accounts and the status of the account (like connected, disconnected, etc.). It's convienent since I didnt have to get up to walk to the server to ask it to dial (lazy bum me
).
As I'm relatively new to Linux, I was wondering if there is something similar for Mandrake 9.2? If it's as simple as SSH to the box, which command would make it dial in? Or would RealVNC be easier to use?
Reason I dont want a remote desktop method is that dialing with Mandrake 9.2 feels odd. Have to go to computer configuration, network and internet, then DarkConnect, etc. It's too long-winded a way to only dial up.
I hope this made sense.
TIA
