Redirect output sound to input (mic or line-in)

I want to compare the quality of a sound file (voice) before and after its transmission via a softphone (sjphone in my case).
For this, i need to redirect the sound played, to the sound input (microphone or line-in).

Some people proposed me to use aslamixer, aumix, arecord, ... but I didn't undertood how to use them.

Can you please tell me how can I do this ?
Hope I was clear.

Thank you in advance.

There are a couple of solutions I can think of

get a wire and connect the two ports - you could even get fancy and split the audio so you could hear it

audacity -

There is an audio program which may be able to help you which is called jackd which you might want to read up on. There are lots of tutorials, but you will have to do a search for them
