REd Hat 7.3 boot problem

Hi folks , I enter all the passes and no mater what end up at

[matt@localhost matt]

I have installed 7.3 two times now , and I just dont get the graphics interface . How the ^&%( do I get into KDF , or the other interface from here : [ matt@localhost matt]

If I cant get in , Linux goes into a deep hole in the back yard .

Never had so many problems with 2000 or XP .

Currently triple booting , redhat 7.3 , 2000 , XP .

I had Red hat 7.3 installed several years ago , and it worked fine then .

Thank you .

You're not having any problems. During the installation, you elected not to start the graphical interface by default. To do so (assuming you did install a GUI) type "startx" and press enter when you get to the [matt@localhost matt] prompt. Hope that helps.

By the way, RH 7.3 is kinda outdated now and along with RH's other former free products, it is no longer officially supported by them... just thought I'd let you know.

well to change that. there are lots of ways to do it.
If you want to start the GUI at boot time you can:
1. run Xconfigurator and it will ask you if you want to start X at boot time
2. cange init to 5
3. add startx to your user 's $HOME/.bash_profile

Thank you folks , but i found the problem , after doing , startx , it seems redhat 7.3 has problems finding my Radeon 9700pro graphics card , so it promptly crashes . Ive uninstalled 7.3 , and I think ill look for something more up to date .

Thank you all .
