Ratpoison with panel tray applications

I I'm trying out out Ratpoison but I need a program like conky to display system information, like a status panel. But conky don't seem to handle system stray applications. I would like to use conky for networkmanager, linphone, xchat and some torrent program. I mean I need to access programs like I did with with the kde panel. Is it possible to do that with conky through any extension or widget plugging or something like that? Just so you know I'm new to Ratpoison and conky. Thinking of going for conky and/or trayer.
I don't know what to go for and don't have the time to read all documentation for every panel out there.

Please help.
Thank you from Martin

Conky's only purpose is to retrieve information and display it. It has nothing to do at all with the system tray. If you need a system tray (and it sounds like you do) trayer may be the program you want.
