RAID + FUSE (GMailFS)

I've been searching, and this has been attempted, but I've never seen it succeed.

Use multiple GMailFS's in a RAID setup.

GMailFS mounts like so:
Code:
python gmailfs.py -o allow_root none /mnt/gmailfs
Which limits what I can do.

Is there a way to basically use it as a device instead of a mount point? I've seen some people attempt it via a loopback device, but that involved creating a file equal to the size of the gmail account, and that defeats the purpose...

From GmailFS on WikipediaŽ:
Quote:
The Official website news dated 13 December 2009, says "Unfortunately the GmailFS project has come to an end. libgmail has ceased being maintained by its developers, and as a result libgmail no longer works with the latest Gmail interface (and has not done so for many weeks). Without a working libgmail, GmailFS does not function, so the end of libgmail also spells the end of GmailFS."
Is even a "plain" GMailFS working for you?
