I have installe wine and it works well, using some windows apps... so I wanted to put a few games on the linux box and try it out (RH9 and KDE) I installed rainbox six and half-life
Problem 1 - Half-Life
All seems to work well but I get this problem on start up...
"Half-Life requires 16bit bolor. Please change your desktop settings to HiColor. Sometimes this is call "32757 colors" or "65535 colors."
Its this a wine problem, KDE problem, RedHat problem, and how do I fix it?
Problem 2 - Rainbow six
Very thing seems to work well but I can't use my mouse or keyboard, how do I get them working (i very new to this so I need major help with this eg. finding files if i'm going to update them)
What that basically means for halflife is that your color/display mode needs to be 16 color mode (in redhat under system settings I think, there is a tool titled "display settings" or something like that).
Not a solution but a suggestion, in the future, you should try using better titles for your threads as we assume if you start a thread, 99% of the time it is a question so that doesn't describe your actual question at all. Regards.
I have tryed doing that... I have it set at 32bit colour I think, that does not seem to work! IS there some vaule for wine that I need to change or something??
