QMail HELP!

I have QMail set up on my off site Linux machine. I need my internal Unix machine to be able to send mail through the Linux machine. They are not on the same network. I need to allow the Linux machine to relay for the Unix machine. The error I get is "553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts". Can anyone please help. I am having to learn Linux as I go. The person who's job I fill, left very quickly. I am pretty much lost. I have learned very little in the past month, but it has been a lot for what I have had to do. Please someone HELP!!!!

The qmail configuration is available in /var/qmail/control.

There is a nice Qmail Newbie's Guide to Relaying that will help you.

If your talking about just a few machines with static ips then you can simply use a selective relay scheme. If your talking about a bunch of machines with possible dynamic IP's then I suggest you look into an SMTP-AUTH or SASL system for doing this. The important thing is to not open up your MTA as an open relay so that spammers can use your server to send mail virtually anonymously.

Only two nachines with static IPs. I have read the Newbies guide. It seems to relate to mulitple accounts. I might be missing something in the guide but I am lost. Can you tell me more about this selective relay scheme? Remember to talk like I have no idea whats going on please. Thank you SO much.
